Columns 3 & 4Willis Belknap was born in Hancock county, Ill., May 3, 1857, and died at his home near Joetta, on March 18, 1911, aged 53 years, 10 months and 15 days. He was married to Malinda Dill, Feb. 27, 1879. To this union were born twelve children, five having preceded the father to the other world. The remaining other seven are: Mrs. Mary Weir, Mrs. Mable Austin, Bertha, Fred, Ralph, Dena and Alpha, who with the wife and mother are left to mourn the loss of a good husband and father. Deceased was a member of the Christian church at Oak Grove, was a Mason and a Woodman. His sickness was short, suffering intensely from pneumonia. He was an obliging neighbor and friend and one who will be missed in the vicinity, which he lived. His bereaved wife and children have the deepest sympathy of all. Funeral was held at the home on Monday, March 20, Rev. L. R. Sherman, of Ferris, officiating. The Colchester Masons had charge of the body at the grave.
