Fred Belknap

Funeral services for Fred Belknap, 80, Carthage, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Fecht Funeral Home in Carthage with the Rev. Ray Osterhouse officiating.  Graveside services were conducted by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Moss Ridge Cemetery.

Mr. Belknap died Friday afternoon, May 7, 1976, in Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

He was born July 14, 1895, in Tennessee, a son of Willis and Melinda Dill Belknap.  He married Lula Gillenwater Sept. 16, 1915, in Oak Grove Church east of Carthage.  She died in 1966.  He was a retired farmer.

Surviving are nine daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Aleta) Hale of Carthage, Mrs. Albert (Eleanore) Whiteside of Keokuk, Ia., Mrs. Mildred Friday of Augusta, Mrs. Ralph (Erma Lee) Inman of Stanton, Tex., Mrs. Kenneth (Ruth) Howell of Keokuk, Ia., Mrs. Robert (Rosa Lee) Hoing of Rock Island, Mrs. Howard (Dorothy) Bundy of Rock Island, Mrs. Ronald (Evelyn) Brown of Moline and Mrs. Pete (Betty) Castelli of Wheaton; three sons, Frank and Willis of Carthage and Jesse of Rock Island; 43 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
