Keokuk, IowaRoy Beaty
Services for Roy Millard Beaty, 64, of 740 Washington St., who died Tuesday in Veterans Hospital at Iowa City, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the DeJong Funeral Home with Bill Hauser officiating.
Burial will be in Keokuk National Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Thursday and the family will meet with friends 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born March 14, 1917, at Montrose, a son of Howard and Emma C. Johnson Beaty. He married Margaret L. Workman in 1961 at Keokuk.
He spent most of his life in Keokuk, and was in construction work with the R. L. Patterson Co. before retiring in 1966.
He was a member of the New Testament Christian Church, and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; daughters Mrs. Linda Lambert of Decatur, Ala. and Mrs. Carolyn Patterson of White House, Tenn.; son Gary Workman of Fort Madison; brothers Ernest of Carson, Robert of Atlantic, Iowa, and Gilbert of Keokuk; sister Mrs. Ed (Edna) Glasgow of Sandusky, and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
