SUCCUMBS TO
BRIEF ILLNESS

Lifelong Resident of Lee County
Dies at the Home of Daughter,
Mrs. Frank Storms, at
Summitville This
Morning.

Isaac R. Beaty, a life-long resident of Lee county died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Storms of Summitville, this morning at 3 o'clock, after an illness of two weeks with complications.

The son of Isaac and Mahala McChord Beaty, he was born at Warren in Lee county on June 14, 1850, and has spent his entire life in this county, where he followed the occupation of farming.  He has been retired for some time.

In 1871 he was united in marriage to Lyda McVay, who preceded him in death.  One child was born to this union, which also preceded him.

He was united in a second marriage with Emma Beard on February 27, 1877, at Warren.  Eight children were born to this union, all of whom survive.

He was a believer in the Friends church faith.

Surviving him are the following children: Mrs. Frank Storms of Summitville; Mrs. W. A. Hancock of Keokuk; William Beaty of Keokuk; Mrs. Roy West of Fort Madison; Harvey Beaty of Fort Madison; Mrs. Glenn Lisle of Pasadena, Calif.; Howard Beaty of Argyle; and Miss Delpha Beaty of Summitville.

The body was taken to Cunningham and Meisters' and will be returned to the home of the daughter at Summitville, Sunday morning.  Funeral services will be held from the Community church at Charleston on Monday at 2:00 p. m.

CITY NEWS

The funeral services for the late Isaac R. Beaty were held from the Community church at Charleston Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Robert A. Foster officiating.  The music was furnished by the Charleston choir.  The bodybearers were Ellery Beaty, Wilfred Beaty, Virgil Beaty, L. B. Storms, Cecil Hancock and Ernest West, all grandsons of the deceased.  Burial was made in the Charleston cemetery.
