<maryjane@macomb.com>MRS. M. BEADLES DEPARTS LIFE EARLY SATURDAY
Was Lifetime Resident of Plymouth Community; Final Rites Monday, May 13, 1957
Peaceful and final rest came at 3 Saturday morning, May 10, for Mrs. Myrtle Beadles, 71, lifetime resident of Plymouth and immediate community. Mrs. Beadles had been in frail health for several years and had in recent years been lovingly cared for in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bartlett. She had received medical care a couple of weeks before her demise in a Macomb hospital but had been brought back to the Bartlett home, it being there that life ended.
Mrs. Beadles was born in Hancock county, January 18, 1886 to William and Emma Mitchell Berry. She was reared in the Oak Grove and St. Marys communities, where she continued to reside after her marriage to Clarence Beadles.
There came to bless this union a son, Lawrence, and a daughter, Lorene. Mrs. Beadles had known much sorrow in her life, first in the loss of her beloved husband, when her children were quite small. She had never enjoyed the best of health and being left with two children to rear and educate became a major responsibility which she assumed to the very best of her ability. The children were most devoted to their mother, a devotion returned in fullest measure. Thus it was indeed a severe loss when first the son was called away after a very brief illness, and in later years the daughter, Lorene, wife of Fred Osborn, departed life in Quincy where they made their home. This left a great sense of loneliness but Mrs. Beadles carried her cross with remarkable fortitude.
She was kindly of manner and deeply appreciative of the thoughtful deeds of her son-in-law, Fred, for the care given by Mr. and Mrs. Bartlett, and for visits of nieces, nephews and friends.
Early in life, Mrs. Beadles consecrated herself to the Lord, joining the Oak Grove Christian church at the age of sixteen years. Following her residency in Plymouth, she worshiped at the First Baptist church, being faithful in attendance when health permitted. Surely she has been granted the reward promised those whose faith never wavers. Besides her parents and immediate family, a sister, Mrs. Minnie Jackson is deceased.
Funeral Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. Beadles were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 from the Cookson Funeral home in Plymouth. Rev. Owen Hamilton, Baptist minister, officiated in the impressive rites.
Mrs. Wm. Lane and Mrs. Orin Cookson sang two hymns, "Face to Face" and "Beyond the Sunset" accompanied by Mrs. Fred Young. Interment was at Oak Grove cemetery. Casket bearers were Fred Fernow, Odis Twaddle, Ernest Garlick, Homer Wheeler, W. R. Pickard and Frank Loy. Beautiful flowers were placed on the final resting place.
