As the first rays of light were slowly creeping over the eastern horizon Friday morning, January 25, the angel of death entered our community, taking the spirit of a beloved and esteem young man, Lawrence Beadles, into that eternal haven of peace.  The passing of this young man came as a decided shock to the entire community as few were aware of his illness which covered the very brief period of four days.  At the time of the recent fire, Lawrence worked valiantly, becoming too warm and as the result contracted a heavy cold, developing into bronchial pneumonia.

YOUNG MAN IS
CALLED BY ANGEL
OF DEATH JAN. 25

Lawrence Beadles' Passing Is
Great Shock To Entire
Community

As the first rays of light were slowly creeping over the eastern horizon Friday morning, January 25, the angel of death entered our community, taking the spirit of a beloved and esteem-young man, Lawrence Beadles, into that eternal haven of peace.  The passing of this young man came as a decided shock to the entire community as few were aware of his illness which covered the very brief period of four days.  At the time of the recent fire, Lawrence worked valiantly, becoming too warm and as the result contracted a heavy cold, developing into bronchial pneumonia.  Having never been a robust or strong young man, he was unable to withstand this illness, his life passing out quietly and peacefully at the home of his grief stricken mother and only sister, to whom he was unusually devoted.

Lawrence will not only be sadly missed in his home but throughout the community where his kindly attitude toward everyone shall be remembered.  He was ambitious of nature, willing to undertake any task despite his frailness.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 Sunday afternoon at the Congregational church in Plymouth.  The services were largely attended and the beautiful floral offerings were significant of the esteem felt for this young man and the sympathy felt for his loved ones.

Miss Helen Hartsook, Mrs. John Mickle, Fred Young and John P. Metzger, sang two favorite hymns, "Under His Wings" and "In The Sweet By and By."  Rev. Alfred J. Ward sang a beautiful solo "There Will Be No Disappointments In Heaven."  Mrs. C. W. Hedgcock played the accompaniments.

The Rev. Mr. Ward delivered a message of condolence and inspiration, bringing comfort to heavy hearts.

Casket bearers were: Loren Greenwell, J. E. McWherter, Elmer Lawton, Bruce Shaffer, Carl Reans and C. W. Fey.  Interment in Oak Grove cemetery, northwest of Plymouth.

In Memoriam

Lawrence Beadles, son of Clarence and Myrtle (Berry) Beadles, was born near Plymouth, Ill., on March 30, 1913, and departed this life at his home in Plymouth, early Friday morning, Jan. 25, 1935, after a short illness of bronchial pneumonia at the age of 21 years, 9 months and 25 days.

Bereft of his father when 7 years of age, he grew to young manhood in the vicinity of Plymouth, later residing in Plymouth where he became the sole support of his mother and sister.

He professed his faith in the Savior on April 3, 1932 and united with the Plymouth Congregational church of which he has been a faithful member ever since.  He was a regular attendant of the Sunday school and Christian Endeavor.

He loved his home and was deeply devoted to his mother and sister.

Lawrence was a young man of steady habits and a willing and dependable worker.

Surviving are the widowed mother, the sister, Lorene, and a number of uncles, aunts, and cousins, besides a host of friends.

There's no disappointment in Heaven
    No weariness, sorrow or pain;
No hearts that are bleeding and
        broken,
No song with a minor refrain.
The clouds of our earthly horizon
Will never appear in the sky,
For all will be sunshine and gladness,
With never a sob nor a sigh.

Card of Thanks

Our heartfelt thanks go out to the many friends who have been so kind to us in our bereavement.  We deeply appreciate the beautiful flowers and other expressions of sympathy.
