R. O. ANDREWSHighly Respected Citizen Dies
Yesterday. Funeral
Thursday.Richard Orbin Andrews died at his home in this city Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1926 at 5:30 o'clock, after a long decline in health.
Mr. Andrews came to Carthage six years ago from Durham township where he was one of the leading and most honored citizens. His parents were Timothy and Mary (Wright) Andrews, and he was born in LaCrosse July 4, 1857 where he grew to manhood.
On January 29, 1883, he was married to Elizabeth Northup who died Feb. 7, 1906. To this union were born two children, a child which died in infancy, and a daughter, Mrs. Nancy McCoy, who with her son, Floyd Scarlet survive to mourn this good man. The wife died Feb. 7, 1906.
On October 7, 1909 he was married to Mrs. Retta Dale Johnson who with her two children, Mrs. Walter Worrell of Carthage and Mrs. Clint Dunn of LaHarpe survive him who was to them a good husband and father. He is also survived by two brothers, Melvin Wright Andrews of LaCrosse and William Allen Andrews, deceased.
Mr. Andrews was a member of the LaCrosse Christian church and was good and faithful to his church obligations. He was a quiet kindly man, respecting all law and order and having faith in his fellowmen, winning the affection of his family with his kind interest in them and living an exemplary christian life.
The funeral will be held at the LaCrosse Christian church with interment in LaHarpe cemetery, Rev. H. C. Reichel to officiate.
