JOANNE ALLISON

May 11, 1942 -- June 17, 1997

Mrs. JoAnne Allison, 55, of  Burlington, Iowa, formerly of  Carthage, died Tuesday, June 17 in Burlington.

Allison was born May 11, 1942, in Glendale, Calif. the daughter of  Galen and Marjorie Boston Dickinson.  She married Dewayne Allison in 1961.  He survives.

She is also survived by one son, Daniel Allison (Gina) of Newton, Iowa; two daughters, Peggy Hart (Jon) of  Burlington, and Angela Bormann (Neil) of Ankeny, Iowa; plus five grandchildren; three sisters, Judy Boyer of Ferris; Linda Craig, Northbrook, and Myrna Simpson, Bloomington; one brother, Matt Dickinson, Carthage, and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Allison worked at First National Bank of  Burlington for eight years, was branch manager at Platte Valley Bank of  Platte City, Mo. for eight years and Farley State Bank of  Farley, Mo., for four years and then worked at Burlington Bank and Trust.

She graduated from Carthage Community High School in 1960 and attended one year of business college at Quincy.

She was a member of the West Hill United Methodist Church of  BurlingtonAllison was president of United Methodist Women and active in the church, holding several offices.  She was a member of  the Sunnyside PTA, Boy and Girl Scouts, helped four of her Girl Scouts to achieve first class, and was a charter member of the Platte City Lioness Club.

Services were held June 20 at West Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Benjamin officiating.  Burial was in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage.

Memorials may be made to the West Hill United Methodist Church, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
