Column 7NORMAN ALLEN DIES
SUNDAY, JAN. 17THNorman Allen, 43 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. James Allen of Warsaw, died Sunday evening, January 17, 1943, at 8:30 o'clock.
He was born on February 9, 1899, in Warsaw.
He was married in 1922 to Miss Eva Lorton of La Harpe. She passed away in February of 1931.
Surviving are his parents, four daughters, Norma, Vivian, Carol Jean and Billie; one brother, Jeff Allen of Rockford, and four sisters, Mrs. Alis Fluent and Mrs. Avis Gilson, twins, both of Chicago; Mrs. Dorothy Peterson of Dubuque, Iowa, and Mrs. Una Smallwood of Rockford.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the Bradfield Funeral Home, with Rev. H. R. Kasiske officiating. Burial was made in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Marvin Neves, Eugene Schilling, Harold Schilling, Walter Scott, Clyde Kamps and Ed. James.

Dies at WarsawNorman Allen, resident of Warsaw, Ill., and manager of the Standard Oil deliveries in Warsaw for many years, died Sunday, Jan. 17, at 8:30 o'clock at the state institution in Jacksonville where he had been placed recently because of failing health.
He was forty-three years of age, born February 8, 1899. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Allen, reside in Warsaw. He was a nephew of Norman Bennett, a sheriff of this county some years ago.
He was married in 1922 to Miss Eva Lorton of LaHarpe. She died in February1930 at the birth of their fourth child. Four daughters were born to this marriage, all of whom survive. The oldest Norma graduated from Warsaw High school last spring and is now employed as a typist in Chicago and residing with her aunt, Alis. Billie also lives there and attends school in Chicago. The other two girls, Vivian and Carol Jean, live with an aunt in Dubuque, Iowa now and go to school there.
Norman married Marjorie VanDine of Burnside August 26, 1933 in Peoria, Ill. She also survives him and is now employed in Keokuk, Iowa.
A brother and four sisters survive him. Jeff Allen lives in Rockford where he operates a filling station. Twin sisters reside in Chicago, Alis married to a Dr. Fluent, a dentist, and Avis married a Mr. Gilson, a barber. Dorothy who lives in Dubuque is married to a Mr. Peterson who is manager of a department store, and Eunice of Rockford, is married to a Mr. Smallwood who is employed as driver of a laundry truck.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the Bradfield Funeral Home in Warsaw, with the Rev. H. R. Kaisiske officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
