Terry Akers, 46, of Chicago, formerly of Bowen, died Saturday, May 23 in Rush Presbyterian Medical Center in Chicago.
A Bowen native, he was the son of Frank and Ethyl Belknap Akers.
He was a graduate of Bowen High School and had completed interior design schooling in Florida. He was a book-keeper and did interior design work. He was an Army Veteran.
Survivors include three brothers, Frank Akers Jr. of West Point, Bill Akers of Plymouth and Donald Akers of Hamilton; and three sisters, Mary Culdray of Plymouth, Kay Webster of Rushville and Janet Wear of Loraine.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

BOWEN, Ill. -- Terry Akers, 46, of Chicago, died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday (May 23, 1992) in Rush-Presbyterian Medical Center, Chicago.
A Bowen native, Mr. Akers was born July 25, 1946, a son of Frank and Ethyl Belknap Akers.
Mr. Akers was a graduate of Bowen High School and had completed interior design schooling in Florida. He was a bookkeeper and did interior design work. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors include three brothers, Frank Akers Jr. of West Point, Bill Akers of Plymouth, and Donald Akers of Hamilton; and three sisters, Mrs. Mike (Mary) Culdray of Plymouth, Mrs. Don (Kay) Webster of Rushville, and Mrs. Garry (Janet) Wear of Loraine.
Mr. Akers was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in Bowen Cemetery by the Rev. Terry Rankin.
There will be no visitation but friends are invited to the services.
Memorials may be made to Friends for Kidney at Blessing Hospital.
The Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta is handling arrangements.
