Funeral Services
Tuesday AfternoonFuneral services for August Andrew (Buck) Agnew of Hamilton were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Hamilton funeral home, Elder Ray C. Wyatt officiating. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery. Mr. Agnew died Sunday in St. Joseph hospital in Keokuk, a few hours after suffering a heart attack.
Born Jan. 19, 1917 in Mildren, N. D., he was the son of Hie and Hazel Gillenwater Agnew. On Nov. 13, 1938 in Kahoka, Mo., he was married to Louise Marie Cook. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church and a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are the widow; five daughters, Mrs. Rosalie Bruns of Hamilton and Patty, Sue, Jean and Betty at home; five sons, Philip, Leroy, Jackie, Ray and Kenneth at home; his mother, Mrs. Hazel Agnew of Carthage; two brothers, Ozie and Amos Agnew of Cordova, and six sisters, Mrs. Hulberta Short of Scribner, Neb., Mrs. Bernice Campbell and Miss Ruth Agnew of Carthage, Mrs. Wilma Poindexter and Mrs. Marjorie Lowman of Key West, Fla., and Mrs. Martha Roberts of Chicago. His father and a sister, Marie, preceded him in death.
