Silas Admire Rites Tomorrow

Silas B. Admire, 77, died Wednesday at his home in St. Ann.  He had been a lifelong resident of the Bucklin and Brookfield area, moving to St. Ann some 10 months ago.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Larson-Scudiero Funeral Home in Bucklin.  The Rev. Kenneth Kelley of Kirksville will conduct the services and burial will be in Cash Cemetery northwest of New Cambria.

Mr. Admire was born July 7, 1895 in the Hart community in Macon County near Bucklin, the son of William and Jane Pleasant Admire.  In January, 1916 at St. Joseph he was married to Grace Williams and they were the parents of four children.  She died in 1936 and Mr. Admire later married Flossie Pearl Payne, who died in December, 1962.

Mr. Admire was a retired coal miner and railroad employee, having worked for both the Santa Fe and Burlington Companies.  He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Marceline.

Surviving are: a son, Howard Harvey Admire of Ethel; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Mildred) Bedell of Mountain View and Mrs. Robert (Myrle) Hedrick of Pleasanton, Kan.; two step-daughters, Mrs. James (Norma) Wilson of the home in St. Ann and Mrs. Don (Joan) Boyles of Cherryvale, Kan.; one brother, Richard Admire of Mendon; 11 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Donald Admire; three brothers, Pete, Bill and Mal Admire; four sisters, Mrs. Beulah Koger, Mrs. Betty Miller and two infant sisters.
