This Bible was originally owned by Terrell and Harriet Albritton Bryan. Terrell Bryan was born in Georgia. He was the fifth child of Reddick (b.1793) and Elizabeth Span Regan Bryan (b. 1799) both from North Carolina. Harriet Louisa Albritton was born in Twiggs County, Georgia. She was the daughter of Peter and Hollon Albritton, both born about 1797 in Pitt County, North Carolina. She was the youngest of six known children. Terrell and Harriet had ten children. Seven were born in Bienville Parish, Louisiana and the three youngest were born in Erath County, Texas. Terrell and his family settled in Erath County around 1878. Terrell and Harriet are buried in the West End Cemetery in Stephenville, Texas. The bible was passed on to Redic Eli Bryan, son of Terrell and Harriet, and his wife Myrtie Hairston Bryan who continued to record family information in the bible and later the bible was given to Whit Criswell Bryan, my father, the youngest son of Redic and Myrtie Bryan.
