My great-grandfather, Terrell Bryan, was born in GA, raised in Bienville Parish, LA., and settled in Erath County, TX after the Civil War. For most of his life he was a farmer, but also served as Justice of the Peace in Stephenville, TX and was superintendent of the county poor farm.

Harriet Louisa Albritton Bryan was born in Twiggs County, GA and later moved to Louisiana. She was married to Terrell Bryan on February 20, 1855 in Bienville Parish, Louisiana.

Alice Amanda "Allie" Bryan, born in LA in 1867. She was the daughter of Terrell and Harriet. Allie married John Regan Hammett, her cousin in 1887.  She died in 1953 and is buried in New Mexico.

Terrell Little "Bunch" Bryan was born in 1861 in LA. She was the daughter of Terrell and Harriet. "Bunch" married James D. Biggs in Erath County, TX. She is buried in Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler, Texas.

Frances "Fanny" Bryan was born in LA in 1859, she died at age 35 and is buried in Old Valley Grove Cemetery near Stephenville, Texas.

Hollon S. Bryan was born in Bienville Parish, Louisiana in 1865 and died in Erath County, Texas in 1906. She was married to James Alonzo Latta and had one child, Millard Ray Latta.

This is Redic Bryan, my grandfather and the only son of Terrell and Harriet to live past infancy. He married Johnie Myrtlene Hairston in 1900 in Erath County. He is buried in Woodsman of the World Cemetery in Seymour, Texas.  To see more of his family click on the photo album.

Photos of Redic Bryan and his family

These Albritton pictures were also found in the Bryan Family Bible. Howell Albritton was the brother of Harriet Albritton Bryan and his daughter, Eva Albritton, is the child on the right.

This is a tintype taken of my, Redic E. Bryan, grandfather who was born in 1870 in Bienville Parish, Louisiana.

This tintype was also in the Bryan Family Bible, but was not identified.  I believe that this could be a sibling of my grandfather as the two children look very much alike. Do you have this picture?
