JOHN WILSON, the first of this WILSON family, was probably born in
South Carolina in the Fairfield District. It seems he had died prior
to 1870 and his wife and the remainder of the family migrated from
South Carolina to Bossier Parish, Louisiana near the small community
of IVAN. Their eldest daughter, Mary Ann had already married prior to
the migration westward. Her husband was a WYLIE and nothing more is
known about them.According to a map, dated 1820, of Fairfield District surveyed by
"John Allen Tharp", there were 2 WILSON families residing
approximately 2-3 miles apart in the lower Southeast corner just
inside the District line from Kershaw District. The other family was
headed by JESSE WILSON, who resided near the bank of Pear Creek. On
the maps of today this area is near the intersection of SC Highways 21
and 34.
