HOW TO USE THIS TRANSCRIPTION:

For name searches of this index, use the "Find" or "Search" feature of your browser.

Letters and numbers show positioning within the cemetery. Letters designate the rows beginning with the row parallel to Price Mill Road, and numbers indicate positions within the rows (with number 1 grave site in each row being the closest one to Wagnon Mill Road).  Where there is a double marker for husband and wife, the same number is used for both individuals. The rows are VERY irregular and somewhat difficult to follow. There are many  stones which may or may not be graves, and gaps between graves which may be unmarked graves.  If you walk the cemetery, take this listing as a map and look for nearby names to guide you to a particular gravesite. If you live outside of Morgan County, I'm available to double check dates if necessary.  Email me.

ABOUT THIS CEMETERY:

Established 1809 in the Rehoboth (aka Rehobeth) Community near Bostwick, Morgan County, Georgia; transcribed March, 2000. This cemetery is located between the Apalachee River and Jack's Creek, which flows into the Apalachee. The oldest grave surveyed dates to 1862 and is that of Joseph Sanford Jones, who was killed in the Civil War, after the Battle of Sharpsburg, MO.

The cemetery has been lovingly restored by community volunteers led by Mrs. J. B. Ruark, and is in generally good condition. There are many family plots designated by fences and borders. There are also NUMEROUS unmarked graves, and graves marked simply by stones.  Many stones are beginning to fade and will probably not be readable in the near future.

DIRECTIONS to this Cemetery:

From MADISON, Georgia: On US 441 Madison, GA proceed NORTH about 10 miles to the Apalachee Community. Turn left onto Apalachee Road. Proceed to 4-way stop intersection. Turn right onto Price Mill Road. Proceed on Price Mill, crossing over Jack's Creek. About 1 mile past Jack's Creek, this cemetery is located on the RIGHT at the intersection of Price Mill and Wagnon Mill Roads.

From ATHENS, Georgia: On US 441 Athens, GA proceed SOUTH, about 12 miles to Bishop. Turn right onto Price Mill Road (about 1 mile past the Golden Pantry). On Price Mill proceed about 3 miles to the Apalachee River. About 1 mile past the Apalachee River, this cemetery is located on the LEFT at the intersection of Price Mill and Wagnon Mill Roads.
