Will of Heinrich Copp

LAST WILL OF Heinrich Copp,
dated 13 Dec 1809
Guilford County, NC

The will reads as follows:

In the name of God amen--I Heinrich Copp of the county of
Guilford & State of North Carolina do this present time in
perfect health of body & perfect mind & memory thanks given
unto God calling unto mind the mortality of my body & knowing
that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and
ordain this my last will & Testament that is to say
principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul
into the hand of Almighty God that gave it my body I
recommend to the Earth to be buried in a decent Christian
burial at the discretion of my Ex. nothing doubting but at
the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by
the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate
wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give
devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and
form.

First I give & bequeath to my dearly beloved wife
Catranina the sum of two hundred dollars to be raised and
levied out of my estate & joys of my horses and cattle
(saddle) and bridle & two cows joys of my stock & the best of
with all the furniture belonging to a bed and two
pots & the tee kitle and two putter basons and two
dishes and half a dozen of putter plates and putter
as many as she pleases and ten bushels of wheat yearly
levied out of my plantation and full posation of my
and garden and meadow or feed as much as will support
the two cows and one hundred weight of pork yearly during her
lifetime.

I also give to my beloved daughter Elisabeth two hundred
dollars to be raised & leavied out of my estate.

I also give to my beloved daughter Doreley two hundred
dollars to be raised & leavied out of my estate.

I also give to my beloved daughter Maglalina two hundred
dollars to be raised & leavied out of my estate.

I also give to my true & well beloved son John Copp
forty dollars to make him in an even balance with the rest of
my sons in the land.

I also give to my beloved daughter Margaretha two
hundred dollars to be raised & leavied out of my estate.

And also my true & well loved son Henry Copp since has
received out of my estate all redy in my life time to the
amount of two hundred dollars in land.

And also my true & well beloved son Felty Copp has
received out of my estate all redy in my life time to the
amount of two hundred dollars.

I also give to my beloved daughter Barbara two hundred
to be raised & leavied out of my estate

I also give to my beloved daughter Hana two hundred
to be raised & leavied out of my estate.

I also give to my true & well beloved son Jacob Copp one
hundred & fifty acres of land on the south side of my
plantation in lieu of two hundred dollars.

And all the property that is over and above is & shall
be equally divided among my children by the name as foller
Elisabeth Copp & Dorley Copp & Maglatina Copp & John Copp
Margaretha Copp & Hanry Copp & Falty Copp & Hana Copp &
Babara Copp & Jacob Copp--all to have an equal sher In the
property that Is over & above.

I also ordain & apoint my son John Copp and Daniel
Whitesel to be my true & lawful Executors of this my last
will & Testament all and singular my deeds, messengers and
Testaments by him freely to be possessed and enjoyed--and I
do hereby utterly disallow, revoke and disannul all and every
other former Testaments, wills, legacies, bequests and
Executors by me in any ways before named, willed and
bequeathed--Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be
ay last will and Testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand seal this
13th day of December one thousand eight hundred and nine.

will and Testament in the presents
of us
