Martha Ann "Hattie" Munger
Martha Munger was born in Parma, Monroe, New York in 18??. She married Selim Silas Hayford, and they later (1870) moved to Whitewater, Wisconsin. Martha and Selim had 6 children, Cecil, Riley, Fred, Florence, Ellen and Selvin. Selim, who had been injured in the Civil War, died in 1890 as a result of those injuries. After Selim died, Martha moved to the family to Janesville, and some time later married Nathan Patchen. Her daughter Florence had married Adam Brown in 1900, and shortly thereafter Adam died tragically in a farm accident (1903). Florence continued to raise her 3 children until she became sick and herself died in about 1908, after which Martha raised the children until she died in 1919. Martha is buried with her Brother-in-Law Charles Hayford in the Rochester Cemetery (Walworth County) in an unmarked grave.
