On 19 May 1662 she was identified in a document before a notary public in New Amsterdam as Anna Patrick, daughter of Capt. Daniel Patrick and his wife Anneken van Beyeren, and wife of Bartholomew Applegate, living in Gravesend. On 25 August 1670 a somewhat less auspicious entry appears in the New York records at an unknown age "An Order concerning the wife of Bartholomew Applegate. These are to Require you to receive unto your Custody the perso of [BLANK] the wife of Bartholomew Applegate of Gravesend an cause her to be conveyed from Constable to Constable till she b brought to Gravesend the place of her abode and Delivered up into the hands of the Constable there who is to take care that she be not permitted to goe up and downe disturbing the Countre. Given under my hand at Fort James in New Yorke this 25 Day of August 1670. To the Constable of Breucklyn to be sent forward for Gravesend." On 6 November 1671 the Gravesend town record shows "whereas the Governour was pleased to order Wm Wilkins to pay ten pounds towards the release of Hanna Apelgate and her child, this sheweth that Tho[ma]s Whitlock received of Mr. Delavall five pounds of the aforesaid somme, of the w[hi]ch the said Thomas delivered five pounds to the constable and overseers of Gravesend in red cloth ..." It appeared she was in the hands of the Indians, and that the money and red cloth were used for her ransom.

Whereas William Patterson before the year 1699 was seized in a tract of land at George's Hundred and made his will dated 17 Jan 1699, and out of said tract of land bequeathed to his daughter, Elizabeth, 100 acres and the remainder to his son, William Patterson. Whereas William Patterson, the younger, did confirm to John and Elizabeth Greenwater the bequeathed 100 acres bounded by Augustine Creek containing 100 acres as surveyed by George Dakeyne on 6 march 1716. Whereas John Greenwater made his will 7 April 1721 and ordered his executors to sell said 100 acres joining his brother, William Patterson's plantation on Augustine Creek. Now Moses McKinley and Elizabeth his wife by virtue of a release from William Patterson, the younger dated 10 May 1721 and for £30 granted to Elias Naudine all the said 100 acres. Signed Moses McKinley and Elizabeth McKinley. Delivered in the presence of William Read. (G1:70).3
  • On 24 May 1724, Elias Naudine of Appoquinimink, mariner, conveys to Samuel Mahoe of the County of New Castle, weaver, for £50, a tract of land bounded by Augustine Creek containing 100 acres being part of a tract sold by Casparus Herman to William Patterson, late of the County of New Castle, dec. and by William Patterson's will dated 17 Jan 1699 was left to Elizabeth Patterson, his daughter, wife to John Greenwater, late of the County, dec. and was sold by Elizabeth Greenwater according to her husbands will to Elias Naudine during the time of her widowhood, then she being maried to Moses McKenly the said land was confirmed to Elias Naudine by a deed in 1723.
