Samuel Opdycke1

  • According to the "Opdycke Genealogy" he was a son of William Opdycke (1755-1822) and Sarah Palmer, and was a shoemaker near Clinton, New Jersey who moved to Ohio about 1820 and bought a farm. The genealogy states that he had a wife and children but that their names are not known.3
  • On 30 July 1814 Henry Emery and his wife Ann, conveyed five acres of land in Lebanon Township, Hunterson Co., New Jersey to Samuel Opdycke.3
  • Samuel Opdycke is on the 1820 census at Goshen, Clermont Co., Ohio with a family. He is not found there on the 1830 census and may have moved to Indiana by that time.3
