    Item. My will is and I do order that all my just debt and funeral expenses be paid as soon as conveniently can be by my executors out of my personal or real estate after my decease.
    Item. My will is and I do order that my executors trust with a headstone by my head where buried in six months after my decease with my age and name engraved on the same.
    Item. I give and bequeath to my loving wife Eliza, relict of John Fulton, all my farm bounded along the heirs of John Brower deceased and the bridge property and the road leading to the falls and turnpike and John Harland's(?) Junr. property the whole containing twelve acres and sixty-two hundreths of an acre be the same more or less, during her natural life and she remaining my widow if not she is debared(?) from the property.
    Item. I give and bequeath to my loving wife Eliza, late relict of John Fulton, all my personal property whatsoever and wheresoever the same may be house furniture to dispose of the same as she declares.
    Item. I give and bequeath to our two children after the decease of my wife Eliza or if she gets married and is not my widow the whole of my real estate to Margaret and John share alike, reserving to be paid out of my real estate one hundred dollars for Mary Ann Fulton a daughter she had when I married her.
    Item. I give and bequeath to Mary Ann Fulton the child my wife had when I got married the one hundred dollars which I reserved out of my real estate to her and her heirs and assigns forever.
    Lastly I hereby appoint my loving wife and relict of John Fulton, executrix and James Vanness my executor of this my last will and testament and I do hereby revoke all other and former wills by me at any time heretofore made. In witness where of I hereunto set my hand this twenty third day of October In the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and fifty two. Witnesses: Henry Stanley, John R. At decease, plantation to be rented for the benefit of granddaughter Mary Risley, until her brother, Samuel Risley, will be of age. In case of his death without issue, the estate to descend to the next heirs of his mother, Diana Risley. Legacies to mother Dina Gaell, brother David Gaell, nephew Abel Gaell (to be paid 3 years after he is of age). Executors: after my wife's decease - John Cowneover, Benjamin Ingersul (my neighbors). Wit.: John Covnover, Benjamin Ingersull, Stephen Morris. Sworn at Sharon, Burlington Co., 31 July 1749.5
  • He made two wills ten years apart, both of which were recorded and are found in the New Jersey Archives abstracts. The first was dated 30 Oct 1720, proved 25 Dec 1730 (NJA 23:177). The second is dated 19 Sep 1730, sworn to at Sharon, New Jersey, apparently after a family dispute as late as 31 July 1749 (NJA 30:191-192).4
  • On 25 October 1744 Stephen Morris and Benjamin Ingolson testified that Samuel Gale left a legacy to Abil Gail, son of David Gail, in the presence of the aforesaid witnesses. Stephen Morris (who wrote the will) saith not, and Benjamin Ingolson saith not. The will was delivered to John Cownover till called for. (Gloucester Wills 420 H).5
