  • Christian Barentszen was born in 1625 at Hoorn, East Friesland, Netherlands, (age 22 on 20 Apr 1647).2

In 1657 he began selling his New Amsterdam property, and in 1658, with others, built a mill near present day Wilmington, Delaware.4
