Adrian LaForge1

b. before 1661
  • Adrian LaForge was born before 1661.
  • He married Jannetje Jans Losee, daughter of Jan Corneliszen and Janneken Pieters, before 1680.1
  • He immigrated in 1672 and is listed as a property owner at Bushwick in 1675, 1676 and 1683. He is named as a Bushwick freeholder in the Dongan Patent of 1687. He took the oath of allegiance at Bushwick in 1687, stating that he had been in this country for 15 years. He appears to have settled on Staten Island in about 1698 and is recorded on 20 Jul 1718 at the Port Richmond Church as a sponsor at a baptism.2
  • Nicholas LaForge is said to be a son of Adrian LaForge as per Andrew J. Provoost in Early Settlers of Bushwick. However, it is apparent that Adrian Laforge and Jannetje Losee had a son named Nicholas who was born much earlier.3
