At this time he moved to Somers, Westchester County. The area covered by his practice was extensive, including the towns of Somers, Yorktown, Carmel (originally Frederickstown) and Phillipstown.

  • His will was dated on 13 September 1700 Thomas Chandler of Andover, being aged and weak in body, but composed in mind. Just debts and funeral expenses to be paid by executors out of stock (except to cows which I have givento my wife). To wife Hannah Chandler, the room that we now live in to be kept warm and comfortable for her by my son Henry, etc. To son John Chandler, the lands that he now lives on. John to pay 14 shillings annually to his mother. To son William, a piece of meadow in the hither clay-pitt meadow. A deed of gift to be equally divided among my son William's three sons (not named). To son Thomas, the land he now lives on, with all my land adjoining to it. He to pay his mother seven shillings in grain and ten shillings in money annually. To son Henry, half of my homestead and pasture and all my housing and orchard, and the half of the hither clay pitt meadow not given to William's three sons. He is to pay his mother 28 shillings annually. To son Joseph a forth part of my share of the Iron Works. I have formerly given him the value of what I intended to bequeath to him in lands. To two daughters, Hannah Bigsbee and Sarah Phelps, besides what I have given them already, my household goods to be equally divided among them after their mother's decease.3
