LDS has two free searchable webpages
They are positively dedicated to providing free genealogy information and their volunteers continue daily to transcribe and post them to their pages.
As a member of their genealogy research, I uploaded my own family tree to their data to honor my native american ancestors.
The Book of Mormon tells us of this tradition going way back to the days of our Elders. It actually uses the word "genealogy".
They trace us back to the Native Americans.
"The book was written by many ancient prophets by the spirit of prophecy abridged by a prophet-historian named Mormon. The record gives an account of two great civilizations. One came from Jerusalem in 600 B.C., and afterward separated into two nations, known as the Nephites and the Lamanites. The other came much earlier when the Lord confounded the tongues at the Tower of Babel. This group is known as the Jaredites. After thousands of years, all were destroyed except the Lamanites, and they are the principal ancestors of the American Indians."
