¢ĄJohn Edwin Brooks and wife Annie Clark Ballard left Tennessee for Montgomery Alabama, along with his work on the railroad. Annie had only one child, James Edgar Brooks, who married Susie Mae Cooper, and Susie named a son James Edgar Brooks Jr."Bubba" married Mary Ella Thornton. Bubba also worked several years on the railroad. John Edwin Brooks was born in Tennessee to Roxanna Permilia Smith of Tennessee and John Brooks born 1837 in Pennsylvania and on the 1860 census of Giles County TN, we find that John's father was from Holland and his mother from France.¢Ą
