Martha Allen and Moses Westbrook of North Carolina in Marengo County Alabama 1830s. They were among many of the first pioneers of Marengo County, with large plantations and slaves to work the fields.
Son James Westbrook married 1st Elizabeth Grauer, daughter of George Grauer and Sophia Porter.(Sophia's father was Mark Porter who purchased his plantation in Marengo in 1824.)
2nd marriage to Johanna Hartley, named sons Osceola, Hartley, and James.
Elizabeth's son George Grauer Westbrook married Marcella Braswell of Marengo County and had a son Clarence Grauer Westbrook..
Marcella's parents were Mary Glass and Wm Braswell, while Mary's parents were Hannah Holt and Willis Glass. Hannah's father Cader Holt migrated into Marengo County in the 1820s and having a huge plantation.
Clarence married Carrie Etheridge in 1906 and had Bruce Garland Westbrook who maried Christine Holley in Montgomery Alabama and began their own legacy.
