In 1850 Virlinda, aged 24, is living with her widowed mother in Rushvile, Schuyler Co., IL. William Houck is listed as a "brickmaker" living with Virlinda's brother, Charles Johnson, in the next household.
A photo of "Aunt Linda Houck" was found in a photo album belonging to Grace Shepard, granddaughter of Eliza Johnson Shepard. On back of photo is written Aunti Hoak Springfied Ohio 312 S.
