1718 rate for building school house was 1 pound each to John Bates, Pierce and Stephens.

April 23, 1722. Ordered by Select men since small pox in family, "That the Country Road be stopt with fencing across by sd Bates Cider Mill...and that notification be sett on the sd fence at each stopage to inform passengers of the occsion that therefy they may be prevented from taking the infection."
