James Bridges possibly md. twice once to Lucy Lowery and not doubted and once to a Sarah (Sally) Tisor according to an unproven DAR application. NOTE: 10-20-2007-- THIS "Tisor" CONNECTION IS TOTALLY UNTENABLE. SEE: The Guest Book at this site where a contributor has put information which will show that this James Bridges could never have married this or any other Tisor. Nothing against Tisors, but the facts are plain to see.

FROM:
1781-1844 MARRIAGE RECORDS OF MADISON COUNTY, KENTUCKY
(Transcribed and indexed alphabetically by Charlotte Ramsey)
I found the following query long after I posted my material on this website. My observations are as follows:
1. The marriage date in Madison Co, Ky, is compatible with the date of birth of James and Lucy's oldest child, i.e., Thomas b. 1816.
2. The Lucy ??? of Jan LeGere's query was obviously Lucy Lowery, as is true in my family's records and by the name "Coleman Lowery", b. ?
3. The names found on the DAR application are not exactly the same as the names on the LeGere list.
4. Another searcher found the Henry Brierly md. Lucretia connection offered no further info to help anyone else.
5. In 1823 James was living in Mercer Co, KY.
6. I had long thought that the James Bridges of Saline Co, AR, was this James, but our James was an original settler of Morgan Co., MO, in 1833. See below. James died in Morgan Co., MO.

Hi fellow researchers--
My James hailed from Mercer, KY and lived from 1793-1879.
He married a Lucy ? from Madison, KY who lived from 1793-1885.
Their son Coleman Lowery (Coley) married Eliza Ann Spencer in 1841
and had 10 children including:
Thaddeus Rowan,
John Scott,
Coleman Lowery, Jr.,
James S.,
Emil C.,
Edward,
Waddy F.,
William L.,
Anna,
Henry Ambrose.
Does anyone have any data on this James as far as parentage or siblings?
Henry Ambrose was my great grandfather and I have pretty much everything
covered from him on down and will be happy to share.
