In the early to mid-1860s Preston formed a partnership with Samuel Poole of Teignmouth & Exeter. They advertised in an 1864 trade directory, using the same South Terrace address, and appear to have operated from the mid-1860s until at least the early 1870s. Cartes de visite are included below by "Preston & Poole of Penzance and Truro," indicating that they also had a studio in Truro. Robert Preston himself continued working as a photographer until at least 1901. The census of that years shows his son Richard walso working in the studio.
