The couple shown in the cyanotype (#05) are identified as Mrs & Mrs Merrill.  Mrs Merrill also appears with a young girl, in the second photo, which has the stamp of photographer Elbridge Warren Merrill on the reverse.  It would be tempting to assume that these two photos depict the photographer, his wife and child.  However, E.W. Merrill apears not to have married!  Perhaps this was a sibling of the photographer?

These photos appear, from the inscriptions on the reverse, to be of two brothers, Elijah Roberts & ??, sons of James Roberts.  One of the photos was taken in Yarmouth, presumably the Yarmouth in Nova Scotia.  It seems likely, therefore, that the young man on the left is Elijah Roberts, born on 23 July 1876 in Nova Scotia, son of James & Fanny Roberts.  He spent some time working as a farm labourer in Weston, Middlesex, Massachusetts in his early 20s (US Federal Census - June 1900), but returned to his family Nova Scotia in time for the 1901 Census in that country.  Within the next ten years, however, the entire family had emigrated to Sanford, York, Maine, where Elijah married, had three children, and worked in a woolen mill.  See the
notes for further details of this family.

Identified from the inscription on the reverse as Eva Dalton.  She was probably born c. 1922 in Hampton, New Hampshire, the only surviving daughter of Millard E. Dalton (1891-1966) and his first wife Belle.  This photo was therefore probably taken in around 1927.  See the
notes for further details of this family.

Identified on the mount as Helen C. Gilpatrick.  Helen was born on 30 Jul 1905 in Hampton, Rockingham, New Hampshire, eldest of three daughters of William M. and Alice Gilpatrick.  She was active in the Hampton community throughout her life, and died unmarried in Florida in August 1985.  See the
notes for further details of this family.
