John died 5/31/1870 Rockingham Co., VA, at 70 years of age. His body was interred after 5/31/1870 Early Cemetary, Rockingham Co., VA. At 30 years of age John became the father of Sally Rodes 10/28/1830. At 32 years of age John became the father of Frederick Rodes 9/19/1832. At 35 years of age John became the father of Magdalena Rodes 2/20/1835. At 37 years of age John became the father of David Edward Rodes Rockingham Co., VA, 5/26/1837. At 40 years of age John became the father of Catherine Rodes 8/15/1840. At 43 years of age John became the father of Elizabeth Rodes 9/20/1843. At 46 years of age John became the father of John Rodes 3/6/1846. At 50 years of age John became the father of Fanny Rodes 10/12/1850. (See John Rodes for the children resulting from this marriage.)

At 19 years of age Frances became the mother of Sally Rodes 10/28/1830. At 21 years of age Frances became the mother of Frederick Rodes 9/19/1832. At 29 years of age Frances became the mother of Catherine Rodes 8/15/1840. At 32 years of age Frances became the mother of Elizabeth Rodes 9/20/1843. At 34 years of age Frances became the mother of John Rodes 3/6/1846. At 39 years of age Frances became the mother of Fanny Rodes 10/12/1850.
