Loebenberg/Labenberg Family History
The Loebenberg family has been traced back to the 1700's in Waechtersbach, Germany. Our branch of the family changed the spelling to Labenberg in the
1800's. I believe most of the family pronounced the name as
Lay bin berg. I want to credit Karen Franklin with providing me with the names and info from Germany. She was researching the family for another Labenberg descendant.

Theodore was born in 1803 and died in 1861, in Germany. He was married to Minnie Hecht, daughter of Abraham Hecht & Veilchen Samuel. Minnie was most likely born in Waechtersbach, Germany and probably died in Columbus, Ohio around 1872. Minnie emmigrated to Columbus after Theodore died in Germany.

Eva was living in Columbus by 1860 as she is listed with her husband Israel Schlesinger. Yetta and her mother Minnie probably came to Columbus a little bit later they are in 1870 census. Yetta's daughter Fannie Lehman married Samuel B. Meyers. There is a double connection to the Schlesingers as Samuel's sister Daisy Meyers married Moses Sclesinger son of Eva Loebenberg and Israel Schlesinger.
