2. JOHN BINGHAM2 FULLER (S. P.1) was born 1847 in South Carolina, and died Bef. October 1898. He married (M)ARENTHA ADELE CUNNINGHAM September 25, 1867, daughter of ROBERT CUNNINGHAM and LOU REECE.

Notes for JOHN BINGHAM FULLER:

Went to a Federal Penitentiary in New York for making moonshine He died there having developed pneumonia. He may have died around 1895 because his son Tom, (Charles Thomas) often remarked that he had to take over as the head of the family at age 10. When his daughter, Delia married Ben Shuler, the application for a marriage stated that Delia was 16 years old and that her father was dead. The application lists her mother as Arintha. Either her name was Arintha or there was an error made on this document.

There is some question as to whether her name was Marentha or Arentha.

There is a photograph of her in a book I have about the Shulers .

The Mormon Church's IGI record (batch number 16015) lists her date of marriage to J.B. Fuller as September 26, 1867 in Macon, North Carolina.

William may have been the oldest child. He married in his later years (wife's name unknown). Lived at Noland, N.C. (a train stop & post office about 6 miles outside of Bryson City, N.C. near an area called Round Hill. He may not have had any children. My Mother remembers him leaning back in a chair on the front porch and seeing a "grandaddy longlegs" spider and falling. He walked between his house and that of Mom's father, Charles Tomas Fuller and carried a pine knot torch to light the way.

Notes for HESTER FULLER:

Had a girl baby who died. The baby was laid out for burial on a dresser in the home. It is said that Fred may have caused the death of the baby. Also, her son Clyde died as a baby. When Hester lay dying, she said that little Clyde had come to take her home. She is buried at Roundhill Cemetary.

After Hester died, he moved to Gastonia, North Carolina and married again.

Bushnell, NC. John used to walk for miles (Roundhill to Noland) to the home of his brother, Charles Thomas' house to get Tom to shave him. It would make Margaret angry because she would have to stop washing clothes to cook dinner. John was the oldest and may have been a Cunningham. His date of birth is one year prior to Arintha's marriage to JB.

Worked at the Sterling Cotton Mill in Belmont, North Carolina. Also drove a truck and sold wood. Took trips to South Carolina to pick up peaches and sell around Belmont. Ted Fuller, Bing's nephew (son of Charles Thomas) when he was a boy used to go with Bing to get wood. Bing used to drink a lot and Ted would get to drive. That's how he learned to drive. Buried in Greenwood Cemetary, Belmont, Gaston County, North Carolina.

Notes for MARGARET MISSOURI SUTTON:

Margaret Missouri Sutton Fuller made quilts. She had an old Singer sewing machine she used. She used to walk from her home in Grassy Branch to Bryson City to see her Sisters in law Vicie and Maggie. She and Charles Thomas were maried in Epp Springs (at the home of Margaret's sister, Martha), North Carolina by A. E. Lowe. Witnesses were listed as Riley Ball and Joshua Lowe.

She made her own wedding dress.

Notes for HALL EDMUND PERRY:

Hall worked with his father at the Majestic Cotton Mill in Belmont, NC. We lived in one of the Majestic Mill houses which were rented to employees and their families. The house we lived in was next to the railroad tracks leading to the mill. I remember walking out the tracks with my mom to take supper to my father including a quart mason jar filled with ice tea. He also was a guard on a chain gang. During World War II we moved to Camp Davis, North Carolina. Dad had a job in a plant there making anti-aircraft shells. We had a small apartment and due to the housing shortage rented a room out to an officer and his wife. My mother's sister Etta came and spent some time there. Mom and dad separated when I was around 11 years old. Dad was on the police department in Belmont and later in Mount Holly. I remember him coming to the house in Catawba Heights where mom and us moved after they separated. He was a Mount Holly city policeman and gave me a ride to Mount Holly in the police car and allowed me to sound the siren and turn on the flashing lights.

He moved to Washington, DC after the separation and lived with his sister Ruby and her husband George Franklin at 221 Constitution, N.E. (just behind the Supreme Court building. I would visit there during the Summer, riding the train from Charlotte to DC.

Cause of Death: Heart Attack

Medical Information: Previous heart attack 5 years earlier. His father died from heart attack at age of 70. His left arm was smaller than right and not fully functional as result of being broken as a child and not set.
