This document is written as near to the original as possible with the addition
of some commas and periods to clarify the old script. Others of you have copies of these
documents. Please peruse your copies and feel free to send Lori corrections as you see
fit. Note: the signatures of Albert, Christian E, Sarah and Perlina were not theirs
but were signed by the writer of the document with hisXmark. I feel sure at least some
of them could write.
There were more than one of these bonds with the same or similar text with different
heirs and amounts of inheritance. All differ as to purpose and date. This places the
death date of George Samuel Brendel as prior to Sept l848 when the claim was made by the
widow for distribution of a year's support. Apparently the final settlement was made in
November l850. This is the same sheaf of papers (31 pages) which also contains the document
quoted from Dorothy Bonar's papers where John Brendel inherited from his parents in PA, Eva
and Georg Brendel 23 November 1885.
