Carl Herman Frey

Carl Herman was the first child born to Hugo Gustav Oscar Frey and Anny Badraun Frey.  He was born on November 20, 1889 near Harlem, North Dakota.  Car; attended school and learned farming and music from his father.  In 1907 he graduated with a teaching degree and taught school for one year.  In 1910 Carl attended the Institute of Telegraphy in Indiana and after taking the Northern Pacific Exam, he obtained work as an operator at NP station in North Dakota.
Carl married Mabel Skrove daughter of Anton and Anna Haugen Skrove on November 6, 1912.  They were parents of 3 children.
Carl organized several musical orchestras, he was a choir member and director of local theater productions.  He had many hobbies including photography and gardening.  He also assembled one of the first wireless radios.
Carl died July 19, 1976, Mabel died July 1, 1991.  They are both buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Lisbon, North Dakota
