11. Carl Friedrich Bredemeier   and   Wilhelmine Rosine Charlotte Tegtmeier

Carl Friedrich Bredemeier was the first son born to Friedrich and Friederike Brehmeier after 3 daughters.  He was born on April 17, 1841 at Bernsen #18, Germany.  He was baptized May 16, 1841 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church St. Petri of Deckbergen, Germany.
His place of residence was recorded as "Colon" #30 of Bernsen, Germany.  [Colon meaning farmer].  This house is still known as the "Bredemeier House" in Germany.
Carl Bredemeier's occupation was that of farmer and basket-maker.  Carl and Wilhelmine first lived as a farmer at Bernsen, and later lived at Obernkirchen where he worked at the Heye Glass Factory.  The large glass containers made there were placed in a woven basket; these baskets were made by Carl Bredemeier.
It is noted that the spelling of the family name is again changed from Brehmeier to Bredemeier.
Carl Friedrich married May 28, 1865 to
Wilhelmine Rosine Charlotte Tegtmeier, born November 15, 1841 at Welsede #12, Germany.  Wilhelmine was christened at the Evangelical Lutheran Marienchurch of Segelhorst, Germany.
Carl and Wilhelmine were parents of 9 children.  Their 5th child, a daughter - Caroline Wilhelmine Louise, died at age 1 year.  Records show that the cause of her death was "spasm/convulsion".  Her death was June 29, 1975 with her burial on July 2, 1875 at the Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery of Deckbergen, Germany.  Their youngest son, Hermann August, died at the age of 2½ years.  No cause of death is recorded.  His death was June 5, 1887 at the Hospital "Bethel" of Bückeburg, Germany.  His burial was June 9, 1887 at the Deckbergen Cemetery.
Four of the children of Carl and Wilhelmine came to America, leaving three sons and their families in Germany.  Their 3rd son Friedrich "Wilhelm" Bredemeier was the first to immigrate to America in 1887.  It is believed that their daughter Wilhelmine Sophie "Caroline" Bredemeier came to America in 1894, and their children Ferdinand and Friederike "Ricke" Wilhelmine Bredemeier immigrated to America together in 1896.
Wilhelmine died May 25, 1914 at Obernkirchen #372, Germany.  This was the home of Carl and Wilhelmine's oldest son, "Carl" Friedrich Conrad Bredemeier.  Her burial was May 29, 1914 at the Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery of Obernkirchen, Germany.
Carl died March 16, 1917 at Bernsen #30, Germany, which was then the home of their second son, Carl "Heinrich" Friedrich Bredemeier.  His burial was on March 20, 1917, also at the cemetery in Obernkirchen, Germany.
It is recorded that after the death of Carl Friedrich Bredemeier in Bernsen, Germany, that the family went by foot in a funeral procession, taking the body to the cemetery in Obernkirchen.  The distance traveled would be approximately 6 miles.
