Daniel Brazzell was born about 1829 probably in Lawrence County, Indiana the son of Joshua and Nancy Quillen Brazzell Sr.
Daniel married Rebecca Ellen Street on May 25, 1848 (Book E, page 36, Greene Co. Indiana Marriages) Apparently there was a double wedding, because on the same date Rebecca's sister, Eliza A. Street married William Brazzell who is Daniel's brother. Rebecca was born about 1831 in Kentucky (census records) and is the daughter of Able Street and Malinda Truax.
The 1850 census of Taylor Twp, Greene Co Indiana shows Daniel Brazil age 21, Rebecca E Brazil age 19, Louisa Brazil age 10 months.
Daniel was killed by a tree falling on him during a storm in about 1851 according to a letter I have that was written about 1979 by family members. Richard Huffman was the administrator of his estate. By the time of his death, Rebecca and Daniel already had two children: Louisa and William Brazzel. The court appointed Richard Huffman and Abel Street as guardians of Louisa and William in 1858. Daniel's estate and probate records are on this website.
In the 1970's I corresponded with a Guyula Taylor, the granddaughter of William Brazzel (Daniel's son). Through many letters she shared much of the family history and details of Daniel and his children Lousia and William and their families. She had researched the family for about 20 years.

Louisa Brazzell-- born December, 1848 in Greene County, Indiana. She married Martin Elkins, Daviess Co, Indiana Index to Marriage Record Book 2, p554, (son of Wesley Elkins).
In 1870 they lived in Mason, Effingham Co Illinois. Martin Elkins was age 30, Louisa age 21 and Nancy L Elkin was 5 months.
In 1900 they were listed in the census of Elmore, Daviess Co, Indiana. Martin Elkins age 60, Louisa 50, William age 19, Maggie age 14, Oscar G age 13, Maud F age 7.
In 1910 they were listed in Grant, Greene Co Indiana with Martin Elkin age 68, Louisa age 60, Grover age 22, Maude age 17.
The 1920 census of Linton Ward 1, Greene Co Indiana shows Martin V. Elkins age 89, Louisa age 69, Maudie age 27.
William Brazzell-- born January 1, 1851 in Greene County, Indiana. He married Cynthia Jane Hatfield on March 25, 1871 (Bk J, pg 27, Greene Co, IN Marriages). They also lived in Lawrence County, Indiana. Their children are: Harvey Brazzell, Daniel Mordica Brazzell, William Norman Brazzell, Elze (Elsworth) Brazzell, Mamie Ellen Brazzell, Fred Brazzell, Orley Brazzell, Kathern Brazzell.

Rebecca Brazzell married Richard Huffman on April 19, 1852 in Greene County, Indiana and they had two children, Malinda and John Huffman. Richard Huffman was married first to Christine Brazzle, the daughter of William Brazzle. She married a third time to a Mr. Bowman.
Rebecca died sometime after 1880 and is buried in Hopkins Cemetery between Needmore and Oolitic in Lawrence County, Indiana.
