Also in the household is Sam'l Singleton a black farm laborer, age 60, and Frank Singleton a black farm laborer, age 25.

The census shows the household of J. G. Hargroves age 44, a carpenter by occupation. Wife Sarah F. is 42 years old. Also listed are children Virginia age 18, Clara age 16, Millie age 13, and William W. age 14 at school, Andrew age 11 at school, Perkins age 8, and Isabele age 6. Also listed in the "other members of the family" section are W. C. Reynolds age 28, and F.O. Reynolds age 18. They are boarders. W. E. is a married school teacher, and F.O. is single and at school.

According to a report in "The True Citizen" paper of Waynesboro GA. "Mr. J. G. Hargroves has removed his family from Perkins Junction, this county, we hear, to Augusta. Verily, Augusta is drawing heavy on the good citizens of Burke."
