Parish of Doon, Diocese of Tipperary (on border with Limerick)

John Bowles

He is listed as a Protestant Inhabitant (there are 26 Protestant Heads of Households in Doon and several pages of Catholics).

The index to Griffith's Valuation of Ireland, 1848-1864 has the following entries:

Kilmore is near Cappagh White in Doon parish and north of Oola.

From the Lattin and Cullen Register (Catholic) (just south of Oola)

At the 1859 baptism of Margaret, daughter of Dan Condon and Ellen Ryan, the sponsors were George Bowles and Catharine Condon.

At the 1872 baptism of Johanna daughter of Ed Hanley and Bridget Maher, the sponsors were John Morrissey and Catharine Bowles.
