Richard Boles of The Boles of Cork
settled at Moyge near Liscarroll in North Cork in the mid-1600's.
Sometime in the 1700's a Catholic branch of the Boles is found on record
in the same area. While the Boles family tree does not yet
document the Catholic branch it is almost certain that there is some
connection. Possibly a member of the Protestant Boles family
married a Catholic woman and they raised their children in her faith.
There are several male Boles of the 1700's who we don't know anything
about and so may have been the originators of this line. The Boles of Liscarroll's Family Tree as we know it now Richard Bowles b. ~ 1790 Liscarroll, co. Cork m. Catherine McCauliffe (b. ~ 1790) 1.
