Inventory of Robert Bowles Possessions in 1849

The following is the list of Robert Bowles household possessions as well as his store inventory taken on December 31, 1849. The inventory was taken by the Superior Court’s agent, Jacques Belleau, upon the sheriff’s orders when Robert was unable to pay a court settlement to the Honorable John Malcolm Fraser.

Third Floor, 1^st Room In the Shop

1 wooden chest of 7 drawers 16 lbs. of pepper 1 cask containing some soda

1 wash basin and pitcher 2 doz. Patent groats 1 jar containing some snuff

6 rush bottom chairs 27 tins mustard 1 jar containing some cut tobacco

1 wool rug 1 ½ dozen cork floats

1 hand mirror 22 snuff papers 1 box containing some candles
