Pickering twp., Ontario county

The 1861 Census of Pickering twp. lists Thomas and Isabella Bowles at Con. 8 Lot 5 with 50 acres but they don't seem to have stayed for long.  See Grey county, Ontario for more on this family.

This Thomas Bowles has the correct age, origin and religion to possibly be the Thomas of my Bowles family of Quebec City who has disappeared from our records after 1846. That Thomas would be John Bowles of Whitby's cousin.  Another indication that it could be the Thomas Bowles of Quebec moving close to where a family member already lived.
