James Bowles, a carpenter from Lambton county died in London twp. in 1894. See James Bowles of Sombra twp. for more information on his family.

A Thomas Bowles, born Aug. 15, 1845 in Ontario (Irish father and Methodist) is listed in the 1901 census of London city. He gave his marital status as married but he's living alone as a lodger and is working as an insurance agent.

A William Bowles Walters (therefore his mother was possibly a Bowles) of London, Ont. (b. ~ 1848) served with the Red River Expeditionary Force and was discharged at Pembina in April 1871. (ref: PAC, RG9, II A4, Adjutant General's Office, Subject Files; Volume 18, Land Grants, Red River Force, 1872-1876, Bounty Warrants #'s 1-1500)

The 1861 Census of Westminster, Middlesex lists a Charlotte Bowles

Lancelot Bowles was born somewhere in the U.S. about 1840. His parents were James Bowles and Isabella Cunningham. He is first on record in Middlesex county when he married Christina McDonald in 1865 in Lobo twp.

The 1871 Census of North Middlesex lists him farming in Lobo twp.

Edward and Thomas Bowles of London, England (parents: William and Mary Bowles) settled in Middlesex county (Thomas in London city itself while Edward married in Thornedale, West Nissouri twp. and then settled in Wingham, Turnberry twp, Huron co.).
