Richard Bowles, schoolmaster
m.(1) Hessy Forster
1.  Anna b. ~ 1820
m.(2) Catherine (Kitty) Kearns (Cairns) in co. Fermanagh
2.  Catharine (Cathy) b. ~ 1826 Tubrid, Drumkeeran, co. Fermanagh
3.  son who died later in Glasgow, Scotland
Richard and Hessy were both dead before 1841 as Anna is listed as an orphan.  Catharine is listed as an orphan as well but her mother was likely still living as a Catherine Bowles was witness to a marriage in Tubrid in 1847. ref.

Anna and Catharine emigrated to Australia in 1841 as orphans.  Anna listed her occupation as a housemaid and Catharine as a nurse maid. ref  According to "From Shamrock to Wattle" page 54, Catharine's letter of reference was signed by a James Wilson.  A report on Fermanagh schools in 1824-26 in the Clogher Record (1963) lists a Richard Bowler teaching at J. Wilson's house.  Despite the Bowler, this was probably Richard Bowles.
