There are only a couple of minor records for Bowles in Halifax county:
Frederick Bowles b. ~ 1850 N.S., a teacher living at a boarding house in Halifax city in 1881.  There is also an Alfred Whitman staying there so they may be connected to the Bowles of Guysborough family of Boylston or he may be the Frederick in Bowles of Kings County.

William Bowles b. 1849 N.S., a farm labourer boarding in Dartmouth in 1901.  His ethnic origin as given on the LDS site is German but that may be a mistake and has to be confirmed.
