THE FREECEN Census Project INDEX

FreeCEN's  aim is to provide a free-to-view on-line searchable
database  of the census returns for the whole country. 
This page shows the Index of the Counties I am presently looking after.

Volunteers from all over the world are transcribing the census 
from the CD's , freely loaned  by the LDS, 
into a specially written database. 
Without the volunteers invaluable support this project would not exist.

  1. Thanks have to go to  to the numerous Helpers we have who have transcribed the Census for us, and if you would like to join us please contact the Coordinator.
    More there is  of us, the quicker we will get them online.
     

  2. Pieces are uploaded as they are finished and database updates occur monthly.
     

  3. The statistics page will always show which pieces were added in the most recent update.
     

  4. it is never too late to give us a hand! No fiche reader is needed; volunteers need only a computer and some spare time.
     

  5. 1871 census pieces on CD are loaned to transcribers by supporters of the project;
     

  6. Software and support are provided by FreeCEN and the County Coordinator.

  8. We still have some 1891  1871 pieces unallocated. so help is required.
     

  9. Transcribers for 1891 do need regular easy access to a fiche reader.
