Miles Sanders and wife, Rachel Curtis, moved several times before settling in Macon Co., NC. They were enumerated in the 1810 Census of Randolph Co., NC but had moved to Burke Co., NC by 1815, where they lived until the late 1830s when they moved to Macon Co., NC. From census records, they had six children, one being an unknown daughter. The other children were Mary, Curtis, Henry, Henderson and Pendleton. Mary is the only child for whom I have found any real evidence of a relationship to Miles and Rachel. I urge researchers to consider carefully before placing any of these children, except Mary, firmly and fully as the children of Miles and Rachel Curtis Sanders.
