James R. and Mary Callahan Roberts

James R. Roberts was born April 15, 1828 in Georgia and died November 30, 1890 in Jackson Co., GA. He is buried at Acadamy Baptist Church Cemetery outside of Jefferson. He married first on January 10, 1853 in Jackson Co., GA to Mary A. Callahan (1834-1870), daughter of John and Nancy Lay Callahan. James married second to Nannie E. ----- (c1843-1908).

The information I have on this family is limited, to say the least. I do know that James had a twin brother named William W. Roberts, who is also buried at Academy Baptist Church Cemetery. William married first on December 5, 1847 in Jackson Co., GA to Susan Ann Langston; he married second to Jane -----. There is some speculation that Susan may have been a sister to Virginia Langston, wife of Stephen Roberts. Virginia and Stephen are also buried at Academy Baptist Church Cemetery.
